Domains are an investment both valuable personal or business asset, and should be seen as such. It is upto the current registrant to protect that investment.

Domains are registered on a contractual basis, over periods typically from 1 – 10 years. It is upto the registrant to keep their details upto date in accordance with the terms & conditions of the particular TLD registry, for example Nominet UK for the .uk TLD. If not then there is the real risk that if the domain is not renewed, despite being held by a valid registrar, that it will either be released into the domain pool and registered on a first-come first-served basis by someone else, or warehoused by the registrar in the case of .com/.net. Your valuable asset is then gone…

Anyname will be providing a new domain monitoring service in the near future at Domain Monitoring focussed particularly on the .UK tld market, though other tld’s may be accepted. We will monitor the status of your domain, particularly for changes in its registry status, and will provide timely reminders for renewal upto and beyond its renewal date. As UK registrars we are well used to dealing directly with Nominet.
