DACr Update

Phase2 of the DACr implementation is now finished. This is the finished front end interface. I’ve added some extra tweaks including the ‘dictionary & keyword’ sort and tidied up some code. The front-end is now done. I may add a ‘recently caught’ and ‘budget domains’ widget to the front page later time & inclination permitting.

There is still the issue of a small number of users having issues with the top block not displaying correctly at a particular screen resolution. It’s still peculiar and perplexing. More so because I can’t reproduce it – though that’s probably more to do with the graphics on the 3pc’s I can test it on not allowing that particular resolution. It’s acting as though there’s a missing “div” and nesting one block inside another though looking at the source it’s all valid. It’s breaking all rendering rules! The section uses some quirky jQuery DOM manipulation to set tabs and sliding panels as well as ‘dom ready’ rules so I’m thinking I may be hitting a rendering engine / jQuery ‘issue’. Considering the lifetime of the project I’m not going to look at it again. There are workarounds and the major section renders ok. Time is pressing on other projects…

Phase 3 is nearly complete. This is the new backend system which will allow real-time monitoring of drops & catches and will allow the registration of domains to personal details… which will need users to complete their profiles through the user control panel.

I’m also looking at new server options to potentially migrate the whole system to a new home.
