QinetiX Domain Portfolio Administrator
The beta stage of the upcoming QinetiX Domain Portfolio Administrator has been completed, and is now at release candidate stage (RC1).
This is a from the ground up rewrite of some of the core features of the stagnating WP Domain Portfolio product, itself based on the standalone domain name portfolio, and using the new QinetiX RAD-WP framework for creating PHP5 OOP WordPress Plugins for WordPress 2.7+. There are substantial differences, improvements, and new features, including new DB structures, categories and template tags. It allows a fully fledged domain portfolio site to be created within wordpress. The product also uses the new WordPress 2.7+ administration framework for ease of use.
There will be 2 versions (at present): Basic and Pro. Both will be supported through a paid release schedule. Current projected pricing is £59 for the basic version and a probable £99 for the pro version.

Provisional release of QxDPA Basic is early October and QxDPA Pro in November/December. There is also a distinct possibility of a product namechange.
If you have any requests for features for first release of the Basic & Pro versions let me know. I aim this to be the defacto wordpress plugin for domain portfolio display & sales through WordPress 2.8 and beyond and allowing a fully functional domain portfolio site to be developed through WordPress.
There will be a primary development & display/test site, the url of which I will display when released.
From the couple of screen shots that you shared privately with me, this is looking very polished.
Can you clarify the scope? I haven’t been in the domain trade space before so maybe my questions are dumb, but I do have a couple of questions :
Will this be single domain portfolio owner i.e. webmasters portfolio only? When you mentioned Auction, I wondered whether this could be a new Sedo/Ebay for potential sellers.
and
Will this hook into any registrars APIs to sell ‘new’ domains either for a commission or a mark up? (If there are even such APIs available?)

The basic version will be a private sellers portfolio site. Later versions will have the ability to connect to API’s such as sedo.
I also have the intention of extending this from the pro version to allow 3rd parties to add/manage their domains to the display and act as a merchant/central resource for .uk domains. (more of a 2 fingers to a certain company)
There is the potential to add payment gateways such as paypal & google checkout.

Not released yet. This will be released as a commercial plugin under the DomainStudio name @ domainstudio.co.uk. Hopefully it will be by the end of March at the latest.
