CSS and front-end development can be ‘interesting’at times, and shouting at the screen seldom has any affect. I’ve come across most of the IE6 quirks in my time, and used most of the available hacks as well, to varying degrees of success.

The latest to rear its head was one of the strangest. A redraw bug when absolutely positioning a box within the confines of a relatively positioned parent. Nothing strange in that, but the issue was with the other static, relative positioned & float boxes in the same parent and the source order of these divs!

AffiliStore Enhanced RC2 has been released. This will be a restricted private release available to a select few AffiliStore experts for testing to iron out any niggles and sort out the documentation & FAQ.

Development is coming along… apart from a few days off churning numbers. AffiliStore Enhanced is now at RC1 stage & being tested. Watchtime.co.uk was the testbed and that’s working fine after a few tweaks that went into the RC.

Qinetix is born!

I’ve started work on an affiliate datafeed plugin for wordpress. Codenamed ‘Qinetix’ – pronounced kinetics this will take a lot of the work I’ve done in the last few months and integrate into Wordpress, probably in time for the release of 2.7. Yes, slumming it in php4 again!

After almost 2 years of exclusively programming in OOP php5 I ‘ve spent the last few months programming on a couple of projects in php4 & procedural based programming.

To say the least I feel like I’ve been regressing back several years. While WordPress & similar applications encourage API’s and plugins to be class based still the underlying application these run on are in general php4 class based architecture with only token gestures to framework & patterns.

The first site to be released from the upcoming AffiliStore Enhanced V2.5 is WatchTime.co.uk.

The final beta phase of AffiliStore Enhanced V2.5 has now been completed & tested, with a number of fixes and modifications.
